About My Mom

Author: Faith McDermott

Ask anyone my age why they love their mother, and a lot of times the answer will be, "She's my mom." As kids we really don't give it that much thought. She's cook, housekeeper, teacher, advisor, mentor, friend, nurse, and so much more. She listens to what I have to say, and if she doesn't agree she lets me know, and then offers me her "mom" advice.

I know right now it's hard for me to see how all the things she tells me to do are going to build all this character, wisdom, and strength. I do know one thing. I love my mom, and she loves me. So, I figure that gives me a big head start in becoming the great adult she says I'll someday be...
